Data & AI Intership

Leek, Netherlands · Active vacancy

Send us your CV, short description of yourself and your motivation.

About the internship

Bring your curiosity, and we’ll help you turn it into a final product.

Previous interns have come from data and security backgrounds. We structure the internship around what you’re studying and what you want to get out of it.

An internship here is meant to be worth your time as much as ours. That means real work you can point to afterwards, honest feedback, and the room to learn.

Who we're hoping to meet

We’re open to students from a range of studies. We look for:

  • Curiosity. You like figuring out how things work, and you’re happy to stay with a problem until it makes sense.
  • Initiative. You’re willing to try something and make a call, without waiting to be told every step.
  • Care. You want to do things properly, and you take ownership of what’s yours.
  • A field you’re keen on. Data, AI, security, or something adjacent so that you can spend your time on work you actually care about. Some comfort with the tools of your field helps, but your attitude and curiosity are much more appreciated.
  • English proficiency is required.

What you get

Real work in your field, shaped around your interests and your study.

Time and support to learn, with people around you who are glad to explain things and answer questions.

A possible bonus, depending on timing: while you’re here, you might get to be involved in one of the larger European projects we work on. We can’t promise it; it depends on what’s live at the time, but when it lines up, it’s a great thing to be part of.

Who we are

i-spark is a data and AI consultancy. We help clients get their data in order and put it to work, including the careful preparation that serious AI actually depends on.

Underneath all of it sits a nine-value ethical framework we built and hold ourselves to. It rests on three foundations: doing what we believe is right, doing the work with real craft, and treating people as people.

In practice, that shows up as integrity and transparency about the choices we make, craftsmanship and reliability in how we deliver, and real care for each other’s well-being, pace and room to recover included. It is the backbone of who we are, and it is why we say no to some work and take on other work that pays us less.

A day in the i-spark office

Our office is attached to our founder Tamara’s house, and most of us get in between 9 and 10. The early birds are here by 8.

In the morning we might have a meeting or two, and around 12 we stop and sit down together at the living room table for lunch, usually cooked by Tamara’s mother. Afterwards you either carry on or go for a walk. We do team walks and one-on-one walks with Tamara too, which double as a check-in, a brainstorm, or just a catch-up.

Then it’s back to work, maybe a coffee or two, and around 17:00 we head home. We’re also big on padel, so if you’re a fan, expect some competition there.
