ERP

Enterprise resource planning (ERP) refers to a type of software that organizations use to manage day-to-day business activities such as accounting, procurement, project management, risk management and compliance, and supply chain operations. ERP systems are often large, extensive systems and less commonly used. Its main focus are large scale-ups and enterprises who sell commercial goods, offline or online. Example suppliers of ERPs are:

  • SAP
  • Oracle
  • NetSuite
  • Exact

Challenges with data from ERP systems

The challenges you can encounter are pretty similar to those of CRMs: ERPs are vast systems, built up out of dozens of components. The data model of SAP for example, exists out of hundreds of tables and data is scattered across these tables. Next to this, SAP also offers their clients extensive customization capabilities which can even make it more complex. Querying data from a SAP database requires comprehensive knowledge of their data model. At i-spark we got several years of hands-on experience with dealing SAP or Oracle data for our customers.

SmartDataPack with ERP

Using out-of-the-box API’s or database replication we are able to extract data from these ERP’s. This data is used in our SmartDataPack solution to be unified with data from other systems such as eCommerce platforms, Marketing solutions and CRM packages.

Example

  • Combine online traffic with ERP data
For a publisher we combine online lead generation data from their Web Analytics solutions Snowplow and Google Analytics with their financial sales data in Oracle to gain a better understanding of their B2B sales.
